Parking during Symposium Weekend

Parking will be available in front of the Jenkins Fine Art Center at ECU for Symposium weekend beginning Friday, January 13th at 5:00 pm. If you park earlier than 5:00pm on Friday, you may be subject to a parking ticket. You may park in front of the building on Saturday and Sunday at anytime.

Other parking options include the Uptown Greenville Parking deck located at the corner of Cotanch St. and 4th St. The parking deck is about a 5-10 minute walk from the Jenkins Fine Art Center. A link to a map of this area and other parking spaces is listed below.*EDIT: The Uptown parking deck offers free parking on Fridays after 6:00pm as well as all day Saturday & Sunday.

Additional parking can be found in the housing grid off of 5th Street, directly across from the Jenkins Fine Art Center. These roads include Holly St. to Maple St. and 5th St. to 1st St. These spots require a permit from 8AM-5PM Monday-Friday but are available at all other times.

Pin Swap Information

For those of you feeling the after-Christmas blues, be reminded that the magic of giving and receiving is not over yet for Symposium attendees! We are excited to carry on our Pin/Charm Swap tradition. If you want to participate, bring your pin or charm to turn in during Sign in/Registration on Friday evening or Saturday morning. Please wrap or place your piece in a box before signing it in. Your pin will be randomly swapped with another persons and will be available for pick up Saturday, January 14th at 5:40pm. May the odds be in your favor!

Show Announcement: Jewelry Edition Vol. 3

Jewelry Edition Vol. 3 will be on display in the African Room at the Jenkins Fine Art Center. The show will be open for viewing Friday, January 13th during the Gallery Crawl as well as during lunch and snack breaks throughout the Symposium weekend.

Jewelry Edition is a project co-founded by Kat Cole and Laura Wood to support and promote the work of early career jewelry artists and those who wish to exhibit a new collection of jewelry work. Jewelry Edition seeks new ways to attract and educate clients on contemporary jewelry such as interactive web presence, and popup gallery events. Each year is a new edition of artists, pop-up venues, and collaborative opportunities.

Participant Slideshow Submission Period Extended!!

We will be extending the entry period for submissions to the Participant Slideshow. If you have not sent your entry, Please do so by January 5, 2017. Any 2017 Symposium Attendee is welcome to join in on the fun. Details about the slideshow are listed below.

In order to get to know everyone and their work a bit better, we’re asking symposium participants, attendees, volunteers, etc to submit up to three pieces for our slideshow in the auditorium between lectures and during lunchtime.

  • Maximum file size is 1 MB per image.

  • Resolution of images should be 72dpi, and no larger than 1280 pixels on the longest side.
